Tororo - Uganda

In Tororo, Uganda, East Africa, a dozen adults and children completed a single hand-colored, large scale Green Map in July 1999. It was the very first one finished in Africa! It has over 100 green sites. Since it was one of the first Green Maps accomplished without a computer, we hope to learn a great deal about the process from Odulla Joseph, an environmentalist and leader of the project at the Liberty Christian Center. GMS's Summer 99 Intern, Beth Ferguson, assisted by desktopping the finishing touches, and we provided more stickers so the project could continue.
